Put the Island Where You Want It

Every Mac setup is different — notch, no notch, one screen, four. These settings move the island until it belongs on yours.

Before you start

Agent Island running on macOS

1. Open the display settings

Settings → Display holds everything about where the island lives and how it looks.

2. Choose the screen

Auto picks the best available screen and tells you which one it landed on. Pin it to a specific display if you always want it in the same place, and set whether it may use non-notch screens.

You should see: the island appearing on the display you expect, and staying there after you plug or unplug a monitor

3. Set the screen position

Move the island along the top bar until it clears whatever your menu bar already carries.

You should see: no overlap with your existing menu bar items

4. Pick the spacing

Compact or notch-style. Notch-style makes the island read as part of the physical notch; compact suits machines without one.

5. Tune what the island shows

Usage display and cost display control which figures ride in the bar itself, and whether the cost page appears in the top panel at all.

You should see: the bar showing only the figures you actually glance at

6. Set the refresh interval

Back in Settings → Providers: 5, 15 or 30 minutes. Nothing below five minutes is offered on purpose — providers rate-limit aggressively and a tighter loop burns your own quota checks for nothing.

If it does not work

The island sits on the wrong monitor

Pin the screen explicitly instead of Auto, and check the non-notch setting if your main display has no notch.

It overlaps my menu bar items

Adjust the screen position, then switch spacing modes — the two together clear almost every layout.

It disappeared entirely

It repositions on display changes; unplugging a monitor mid-session can move it. Toggling the screen setting brings it back.
